Going through school is no easy task - with all of the academic expectations, social pressures, and personal development issues it can be overwhelming, challenging, and even discouraging. Transitioning between grades is harder for some than others - students hit obstacles they are ill prepared to handle or get caught up in a stagnant state of ineffectiveness and non-productivity. Certain classes, particular subjects, and even teachers as well as classmates can cause difficulty and scholastic discomfort. It is not uncommon to struggle with new material, feel lost in class, disagree with the instructor's teaching style, or just do the bare minumum to get by. That is why we focus on rebuilding the essentials needed to handle upper level courses - regardless of the subject. Once a student learns how to read a textbook in such a way to be able to comprehend the material, retain the material, and apply the material then English, History, and even Science classes are that much easier. Once a student internalizes the absolute truths of math, the various basic concepts upon which all of math is built on, and how the interrelated core fundamentals of math work together, then Math is no longer such an enigma. Besides focusing on content, our tutors infuse each curriculum with study skills analysis and recommendations. Different methods work for different students and different classes call for different study methods; therefore, our tutors work with students in identifying and implementing the study skills needed for that particular student to consistently achieve good grades and high scores.
